With the mission to “build a more just and sustainable community through education, action, and appreciation for our world,” Virginia Tech's annual Earth Week events are led by The Environmental Coalition at Virginia Tech, with support from nearly a dozen other groups, including:

Each day of Earth Week is themed around an important sustainability topic, like clean energy, waste and recycling, local food, social justice, and community. The particular events change each year, but the basic mission to take action for and celebrate a sustainable campus and beyond is carried through year to year.

Monday 4/16: Nature & Conservation Day

Nature and Conservation Information Booth
Description: Join the Environmental Coalition outside Turner Place to learn more about local hiking and trails, local and native plants, bees and pollinator gardens, and to snag a seed bomb!

Stadium Woods Walk
Description: Join the Environmental Coalition and Dr. Kirwin for an educational walk through Stadium Woods.

Description: Join the Environmental Coalition for a journaling workshop that will help us connect to our surroundings and better understand the nature around us.

Description: Join the Students for Sustainable Practice for their annual SolarFest event. Come check out local musicians, hear from a guest speaker on the solar revolution in VA, and check out the great work that student groups at VT are doing!

Duckpond Clean-Up & Earth Day Picnic
